What to expect
What a house call looks like
- 01
Book and get a quote
Call, text, or request online with your neighborhood and what your pet needs. You get the exam fee plus the travel fee for your area before confirming.
- 02
We arrive at the scheduled window
Have your pet in a quiet room with a towel or blanket they like. For cats, closing doors to hiding spots ahead of time helps a lot.
- 03
Care on your floor, not a steel table
Examination, vaccines, parasite prevention, nail trims, and senior check-ins are all done at home. Pets are calmer and Dr. Arias gets a truer picture of how they are doing day to day.
- 04
Records and next steps
You get the same records, certificates, and reminders as a practice visit. If something needs equipment we do not carry, we tell you and help you arrange it.

Questions people ask
Which neighborhoods do you cover?
Home visits are available across Queens, including Corona, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Flushing, Woodside, Astoria, Sunnyside, Rego Park, Forest Hills, Maspeth, and Long Island City, with the rest of New York City by arrangement. Tell us where you are and we will confirm.
What can and cannot be done at home?
Exams, vaccines, parasite care, basic diagnostics such as sample collection, senior and mobility assessments, and at-home euthanasia can all be done at home. Surgery, X-rays, and hospitalization cannot; if your pet needs those, we say so and point you to the right place.
Is a home visit good for a scared or aggressive pet?
Usually, yes. Many pets who are impossible at a clinic are manageable at home. Tell us about your pet's behavior when booking so Dr. Arias can plan the visit.
Do you do home visits for emergencies?
No. Home visits are scheduled appointments. If your pet is in distress now, go directly to a 24/7 emergency hospital such as BluePearl Pet Hospital – Forest Hills ((718) 263-0099) or URvet Care 24/7 – Astoria ((646) 242-5200).
